The Foundation for Human Rights and Development (FHRD) was founded on Human Rights Day 1998 in Yaounde. The Government of Cameroon recognised it on the 5th of October 1999.

FHRD Strategic Plan
The current Strategic Plan of the FHRD runs from 2025 to 2030.Central focus shall be on:

Defeating endemic corruption that has become the greatest threat against democratic governance and national security in Cameroon;
Monitor the growing and dangerous drug trafficking trends, cartels and abuse in Cameroon on the one hand and combating the threats posed by the latter on national life (youths especially), security and development on the other;
Continuously advocate for an enabling legal environment and institutional framework where the culture of human rights and freedoms; integrity, transparency and accountability in public life are given robust protection including Access to Information Laws;
Provide technical assistance to Civil Society Organisations, Community and Faith-Based Groups on the above and Project Management;
Provide Legal Aid to victims of corruption and human rights abuse.
Activity Reports:
Over the past two decades, the FHRD has undertaken successfully several projects:
1. A Multimedia Centre where it trains students on modern communication technologies.
2. Runs a well-equipped Academic Library with text books for primary, secondary and university levels and post-graduate research.
3. Runs a Legal Aid Clinic for victims of corruption and human rights abuse.
4. Runs Club activity in several public and private colleges; Provides seminar/workshop/conference facilities to CSOs and other Groups.
5. Provides scientific research guidance to young scholars and researchers via its Think Thank –The Bernard Fonlon Research Centre.
Provides (has provided) Technical Assistance and Consultancy Services on Anticorruption (Education for Integrity, Whistle-blower Protection, Asset Recovery, Fighting Corruption in Small and Medium Sized Industries, the Writing of the National Anticorruption Strategy Document for Cameroon, etc.) to the United Nations Development Programme UNDP Cameroon, The National Anticorruption Commission of Cameroon, Transparency International Cameroon and the Ministry of Supreme State Audit
